Help reduce disparities in health access and resources at Tufts and in surrounding communities.
Project SHARE’s Fundraising Committee raises funds throughout the year to support our current and future public health projects within our Public Health and Health Outreach committees. These projects aim to spread health access, resources, and education to the Tufts and local communities. We also help manage and send volunteers to The Sharewood Project in Malden, a free health care organization run by Tufts Medical School that provides free health check-ups to the general population.
Health equity is a major issue that is not only important to address within the Tufts community, but also within our neighboring communities. As college students passionate about public health and medicine, it is our duty to use our privilege to help educate our fellow Tufts students about systemic barriers to health. In the surrounding community, our efforts provide feminine health products to women’s shelters, home-cooked meals to homeless shelters, drug addiction and overdose trainings, free physical exams for those without insurance, and much more.
We hope to raise $1,000 to go toward our Public Health and Health Outreach committees, as well as to pay for the equipment we need to volunteer at The Sharewood Project. Any funds exceeding our goal will be saved in our official budget for continuation of these projects, as well as developing more initiatives to benefit public health access, resources, and education at Tufts and in surrounding communities.
